Re: How to avoid back sleeping?
A couple of things that have worked for me. Wear an underarmor compression shirt that is a size too small and stick a hard ball along your spine....4 " in diameter...if one doesn't hold the ball in place try wearing two of them. I have also taken a back support belt....can buy them at walmart....tha...

Re: What is an acceptable vibratory snore rate?
I haven't found much correlation between the snoring index on my machine and AHI. Sometimes my snoring index is high(20) and AHI is low(1) and sometimes AHI is high(4) and snoring is low (2). In addition, when I was using a Resmed machine, snoring wasn't even reported so I have to ask myself how imp...

Re: Error message
It's plugged into the USB port on the back of the computer. The computer nerds say I need 1.8. Any ideas where I can get it?

Re: Error message
"You're not using a USB hub for your reader, are you?" Yes...just plugging it into the front of the computer as I did before. I installed the encore on another computer...matching computer to the one that was redone...and I still get the same error message. Everything works ok ... shows it's downloa...

Re: Error message
Den..I am getting the same error report. I am using encore pro 1.7i. Any thoughts why I am getting this error with my encore pro smart card. It was working prior to my computer losing it's operating system. However I had the computer cleaned up and the operating system re-installed so I should be go...

Re: Can't get rid of the apneas
Several of us on this board have chosen to prevent back sleeping instead of having to endure high pressures of over 15. It's not uncommon to be able to get effective treatment at half the pressure if you stay off your back. Personally I wear two Underarmour t shirts..one size smaller than normal. Th...

Re: Apnea Clusters
My clusters occurred when I rolled on my back. Try staying off your back and see if that helps. I wear a gizmo every night that makes it impossible for me to get on my back and the clusters have disappeared. Get a full face mask too.

Snores and AHI
If my snores have no effect on AHI readings is there any reason to give them any importance? The reason I ask....at a pressure of 9 my snores go up but my AHI is around 1. MY wife says I am not snoring but the machine says otherwise. At a pressure of 11 my snores go down but my AHI goes up a hair......

Both Rooster and I discovered that sleeping on our stomach in the falcon position eliminated our issues with taking in air.

Re: POLL: What is your TYPICAL nightly AHI?
Based on my experience the HI in a resmed ran 3-4 times what the AI ran... with my responics HI typically runs the other way....1/4 of the AI. MY overall AHI was typically 5 with the resmed while it runs around 2 with the responics. The comparative HI numbers were 8-10 times higher on the resmed...b...

Go figure
Typically I have been setting my machine on apap 11 to 20 with A flex of 3 to be more stomach air friendly. My numbers on average are usually about 2.5....with the best being 1.5 and the worse being 3.5. My 90 % is typically 12 to 13. I typically sleep about 6.5 hours. I wear a gizmo to keep me off ...

Re: Aerophagia - where to go from here?
A couple of things....I have no aerophagia in the falcon position. It' s far superior for me than side sleeping when it comes to aerophagia. Secondly....A flex makes a big difference for me...C flex not so much.
