An Intro to the Australian Health Care System

A couple people have asked me for a comparison US to Australian health systems. First, a bit about me. I grew up in the US and I've lived in Australia for 2 and a half years. I'm 26 years old, and by no means an expert on either system, I've just used them both. Neither is perfect. As far as the hea...

Re: Please someone Encore down load

What version of Encore are you trying to install?

To get 1.8 going under 64 bit Vista, some have had luck with the instructions here: viewtopic/t40234/How-to-run-EP-under-Vi ... ution.html

Re: An Update

It really is good to see you posting here again, even if in passing (which hopefully it won't be). Thanks, it's good to be back. We'll see how I go I guess. As far as the dust storms, I had JUST cleaned off our two balconies the night before. There's still red dust everywhere. My filter's alright t...

Re: An Update

Thanks for all your kind words. I lurk on here from time to time, and I'm glad I finally took the time and posted. Can you use CPAP when healing from a tonsillectomy? I don't think so. At my next appointment with the ENT I'll ask him about recovery. Am balking at going ahead as she says it takes 2 w...

An Update

It's been forever, I know, that's why I figured it was about time I hopped in and gave you an update. My BiPAP Auto (Tank) now has just over 7,000 hours on it, and I'm now 26. I'm still using my Headrest/Twilight NP/Whatever they're calling it these days with the classic Rested Gal decapitation. My ...

Re: using friends auto pap without script

Yeah, I'm with RG. They're not watching the camera except to help diagnose things like RLS, PLMD, or REM disorders, which involve physical movement while you sleep. If the electrodes on your legs go nuts, then they'll probably glance to see if you're dancing on the bed, and that's about it. There ar...

Re: How To Make A Toxic Poster Disappear

Yeah, I'm still alive. Almost up to 5000 hours on my tank BiPap Auto. I find it's completely different being in Australia and reading the forums. All of the posts happen while I'm asleep, so then when I come to look, there's a massive new pile of things going on, and it's way too much to sort throug...

Chinstrap first, mask second.

I use the deconstructed Aura/Headrest/Twilight NP/Whatever the kids call it these days like Rested Gal, so the pantyhose tights straps go on top of that.

Depending on the machine you have, it'll either show what nights the machine was turned on, or it'll show that as well as other statistics, including leak, aka, when the mask wasn't on your face (or was leaking if you're using it).

Why am I left wondering whether they're going to strangle their human patients to simulate OSA?

Sounds interesting! I drink green tea heaps because I like how it tastes.

Are you having any congestion problems? I've noticed that my machine thinks that nasal gurgling is snoring. I find when I'm in a snoring and or congested time that I tend to do better with straight CPAP/BiPAP instead of auto, as the auto goes nuts and bumps me around too much. Anyway, just a thought.

Personally, I haven't seen a correlation. Some nights are good and some are bad.
