Re: Use of Provigil
Thanks Kathy. I do have to go see the doctor again. After 5 years, I am getting really tired again. The headaches are back and my concentration is for the birds..... I have gained and lost wait on and off for the last 3 years. My maximum loss was 18 pounds. I stopped working out at the gym not more ...

Use of Provigil
Long time no post. I recently heard from somebody who is also suffering from sleep apnea. His doctor also put him on Provogil to help straighten out his days and nights so he is more awake during the day and will sleep better at night. The side benefit that was a surprise is that he lost over 65 pou...

I started with the comfort gel. that worked well for awhile for me anyway. unfortunately it was pretty loud then. Also, having the red mark on my forehead and the strap marks on my face really started to bug me too. So I tried the Swift Nasal Pillows about a year ago and have had difficulty on and o...

Mirage Activa Mask
Hi, Last night a tried a new mask, the Mirage Activa. Does anyone else use this mask and how do you like it. Also, I understand that the nasal portion of the mask is supposed to expand when you turn it on. But mine did not last night. Does this mean it was too tight? I tried this morning standing up...

As far as stuffiness in the nose, I have it all the time. I think I have become more sensitive to allergens since going on CPAP especially the nasal pillows. I also have a deviated septum which, from what I understand from my ENT, would lead to stuffiness in the nose as it doesn't drain properly. Jim

I feel foggy when there are extreme changes in tempurature. I noticed it more lately with the odd weather here in Jersey. No snow, unusually high temps but offset with occasional cold days. I tend to get a sinus/throat infection when the seasons change since I got the CPAP. I have to stop with the N...

Kathy, Just curious. I don't know much about Periodic Limb disorder or RLS, but I would have thought the better your sleep, the events would decrease. I always thought that my legs would move more so when I am not getting proper sleep. As in my brain is trying to wake me from an event or something. ...

i wake up with headaches in the morning when I don't sleep with the mask or I had a bad night with leaks. The headache can be caused by a low oxygen saturation level (below 90?) or sleeping position. I was always a stomach sleeper. On a good sleep night, I don't wake up at all and turn to the side e...

Godsgirl, It is not uncommon to have feel worse again two weeks later. It takes most people longer to adjust to it. The immediate oxogen flow to the system definately provides immediately relief, but until the body gets used to the system you will have up and down days. You have to remember your bod...

Buffy, like most anyone, when you don't reach the lower levels of sleep, it is true that you your heart doesn't rest. I found out I had Atrial Fibrulation (irregular heartbeat) and I am now on medication to treat. When I was just on the meds, i still had a couple of episodes every 3 or 4weeks ago. A...
