Re: Anyone have experience with cruising on Princess Lines?

I cruised the Princess Lines before CPAP and it was a wonderful trip. If you haven't, call them and see what their accommodations are. Since CPAP, I have been on Royal Caribbean. When I called ahead of time to ask about CPAP accommodations they must have made a note on reservation. Upon boarding, a ...

Re: New script every year??

Last year for first time was told new RX was needed, per state law. In contacting my sleep doctor and ins co, there is no such law. Finally got DME to admit that they had just made it their policy to cover everyone. Some insurance companies do require it and they are just making sure they get paid. ...

Re: Minimum Pressure setting

I decreased my AHI by upping the minimum. I was having events while the machine was trying to get up to where needed. AHI went from 3.5 to 1.0.

Re: Standard Procedures for ER's/ Hospitals & CPAP?

I am so sorry you had a bad experience. My local hospital encourages patients to bring their own machines and masks. Spouse or someone close to you should be informed ahead of time how to pack up the machine and make sure it is with you in case you are not able to do it yourself. At times like this ...

Re: Dream Station Provider Menu QS

Thanks Pugsy. With the suggested viewpoint that some setting was not allowing a change in pressure I carefully went over the provider menus again. Found it!! The Dream Station has a feature called "Opti Start". When this is set to on, no pressure changes can be made. Go figure. As more on this forum ...

Dream Station Provider Menu QS

First week on new Dream Station APAP. I want to bump up my maximum pressure a notch. AHI is low but maybe it could get even better. I know how to get into the provider menu and could make changes to most features if needed. However the maximum and minimum pressure portion of the therapy screen is gr...

Re: How to limit condensation when heated humidifier is needed

I experienced condensation when first using CPAP. Being handy with a sewing machine, I bought some fleece and sewed a long tube as a hose cover. This did away with problem for me.

Re: Mirage Liberty cutting into nostril

I also experienced discomfort with a Liberty. I usually use nasal pillows and added the Liberty to my collection for when I have a cold and can't breathe well through nose. To get it to seal, I ended up with sore nostrils. I'm a side sleeper and it seemed like a lot of weight dragging on my face.

Have LT Nasal Pillows changed?

I have had the same type of mask and pillows for several years. I replaced the mask and pillows repeatedly with no problem. I replaced my Swift LT For Her recently and the nasal pillows seem to be stiffer than previous ones, and do not seal as well. Have they changed the composition of the pillow ma...

Re: DME

My original prescription from 2006 stated "lifetime" for length of CPAP RX. About 2010 they said they needed an updated RX each year and my MD signed off on it for a few years. Last year he got uncomfortable doing this and sent me back to my sleep doc for RX. Sleep doc wondered why I was there and k...

Re: Respironics System One Humidifier

I had trouble with humidifiers both on my previous M model and current System One APAP. Both times, DME has just swapped under warranty. I've had other issues with APAP itself. Always, Respironics warranty has been great. Once they even covered something out of warranty, just because part shouldn't ...

Re: Advice needed regarding adjusting APAP pressure

I started APAP with 4-20 range, AHI was from 3.0 to 5.0 first few weeks on CPAP. Couldn't breathe at 4 so upped the low number to 7. AHI then fell to 2-3. Upon suggestion from a member here I nudged bottom number up to 8. AHI fell to below 2. Sleep doc feels even lower is better and to up bottom num...

Re: New Swift FX Bella Mask.....

Help me out--I asked my DME about the Bella and after checking with their rep she replied back that the straps would be $35.00, not covered by insurance.

I thought it came complete--mask, usual straps, plus ear straps. Is this right?

Re: Resmed Liberty mask question

I have the Liberty. I have several masks and this is OK but not one of my favorites. It is quite heavy on the face which I find uncomfortable.

Re: New Swift FX Bella Mask.....

I also am waiting to hear from my DME if they can get it. They had no knowledge of it. DME told me that they often find out about new masks from their clients asking about it.
