curtcurt46...waking up in 2 or 3 hour intervals may be the result of something as simple as a heated humidifier setting. If you don't get enough humidity, your mind will sense it and pull you out of a deep sleep. If you are using heated humidity, try bumping it up a notch and see what kind of improv...

Guest... I never said that the *cord* comes unplugged. I said that the unit unplugs itself....which it does. I cannot count how many times in the middle of the night when I had the emergency phone....that I had to instruct a pt on how to slide the flow generator back into place because it had worked...

Keep in mind that when you first start to use xpap, you may very well be forced to begin using muscles in your chest and abdomen and back to an extent you never have before. This is the result of having to now force air out of your lungs against pressure. Like any muscle you use more than usual or s...

Thank u for your re-considered thoughts, NyNurse33. Water under the bridge. I'd love to Mile High. In fact, I was considering writing a book, or at least a pamphlet for beginner cpap users, or one of those...all u ever wanted to know, but were afraid to ask kinda things about xpap usage. Is a produc...

I'm not sure of whether this is true or not regarding his past/current occupation Tho you may or may not believe me, I only cook steak at home. lol I'm trying to remember.....I think I flipped some burgers back in highschool, but that only lasted about 2 weeks. That was around 22 years ago. I reali...

You can change your starting ramp pressure, but you cannot change the amount of time it takes to get up to your full pressure. Here's how to change the ramp pressure (which is a user settable function that doesn't need a script to change): On your Remstar Plus....with it plugged in but NOT on, push ...

Any time you go in to see the Dr, or stop by your DME for a machine check, they should look to see what the hours are, and to check for calibration. Meaning....look to see if it is blowing exactly what it is set to blow? If the machine is set to say....8cm, it may be blowing dead on 8cm, or a little...

MyNurse33 asked: why did you choose the escape? You didn't want to participate with the managing of your therapy, by using an auto? Actually, out of all the machines on the planet, I could have had any one I wanted at no charge to myself. I handle machines daily, and researched machines hands-on for...

In my opinion, the M series is Junk. Here is why: 1) I've programmed, issued, done pressure checks and trained pts on thousands of machines. Out of those thousands.....about 1/5 of them were M series. The remainders break down into approx 2/5 Remstar plus with cflex, 1/5 Remstar Plus cpaps, and 1/5 ...

The Tiara FFM is, in my opinion, not a good choice. I've tried it on several people and have never been able to get a seal. It's not adjustible, and just has an old design feel to it. I tried it on myself and felt it to be uncomfortable. I've pretty much stopped showing it to people, and never have ...

All the cflex does is offer an exhalation relief. It should have very little impact on your AHI. Most OSA occurs at the bottom of the cycle as you go from exhalation to inhalation. Therefore, the use of flex at 2, rather than one, may be encouraging you to remain in the exhalation stage longer than ...

Waking up an hour or two after falling asleep sounds like not enough humidity. Do you have a heated humidifier? If you do, try starting it out midway, on a level like 3 out of 5. If you are already at 3, try bumping it up a notch and see if that rectifies your problem. If you are drying out, no slee...
