Re: ...am I doing the right thing?.....

Thank you, Pugsy! You are right. I do have the auto on/off set! You are also correct that it takes about a minute for the auto off (with a Respironics machine) to realize that there is no human attached. I guess people who don't know Respironics machines don't know this. Also, as I said, I have exce...

Re: ...am I doing the right thing?.....

I knew, as soon as I posted, you would be along palerider. to make your usual nasty comments to me. I just expect it now. If you walked in my shoes for just a short while, given what I am dealing with right now, you MIGHT understand and be a little kinder. That's if you have any empathy at all.

Re: ...am I doing the right thing?.....

Reach over - he says! My shoulders, elbows and hands get so stiff and swollen at night that I am lucky to deal with the bathroom during the night! MOST people can reach over and turn it of -- sadly, not all. Sorry, but unless you are dealing with what I am dealing with, you wouldn't know how difficu...

Re: ...am I doing the right thing?.....

I just let it blow air when I get up to the bathroom. Mine shuts off in about 1 minute anyway. I know it shows as a large leak but, with my arthritis, I don't care! Just getting up to go to the bathroom is about all I can do when my arthritis stiffens me so much in the night! It does not affect my A...

Re: Is there a Cheap, Light & Portable Battery?

I use the Medistrom Pilot 12 with my Respironics auto 560. I only use it as an Uninterrupted Power Supply. It is worth the cost, for me. Have had it a few months and it has kicked on twice, for a short power outage, during the night. It made no sound that I could hear, but I was asleep! I knew the p...

Re: Well...got my sleep results in. Yikes!!

My sleep study showed 63 events. I have been using cpap/apap for 14 years now and doing well. No need to worry. You will be fine. Lots of people here can help you!!
All the best!

Re: Really Worried About CPAP AHI? New To CPAP

You just continue to be nasty on this board. Nothing changes here. There have been people like you here since I joined. I will not be going to any other cpap board. I do, however, fully understand why a lot of good, helpful people no longer post here. I also fully understand why Pugsy left and now li...

I have no idea what you are trying to say! Yes, I said those things and I meant them! You are twisting what I said! I'm done!

Re: Really Worried About CPAP AHI? New To CPAP

I guess you don't read my posts very carefully (I know you don't), I did say I used an auto and had it set at a range of 11 to 14 cm. I did not say I used a single pressure. I did say that any events I had, which are few, occurred mostly at 11cm. People's needs do vary throughout the night no matter...

Re: Really Worried About CPAP AHI? New To CPAP

Sorry, but I think my beliefs are sound and founded on experience and research. Did you tell robysue her belief are unfounded as well? Way back - before you were ever on the board, Rested Gal and Ozij said the same thing as I said. They were 2 of the most knowledgeable, helpful and respected people ...

Re: Really Worried About CPAP AHI? New To CPAP

I believe that, as robysue said, it should make NO difference, "once you are correctly titrated and using the appropriate pressure". Unless you have a poor sleep tech, this should happen almost immediately. I was only days in and because, of a good tech who did a proper titration, I was good to go a...

Re: Really Worried About CPAP AHI? New To CPAP

I put no stock whatsoever in the notion that sleep positions cause more events. As robysue said, if you have been titrated properly, you should be able to get good cpap therapy no matter how you sleep - back, side, stomach. I have been on cpap for 14+ year and have slept on my back EVERY night for A...

Re: Home Remedies During CPAP Downtime

I don't travel much so I don't have a small spare machine. I have a Devilbis Intellipap as my backup. It is small and compact but there are smaller ones now. I don't worry about the humidifier (don't like the one on the Intellipap but I am fine with not having a humidifier for the backup). I just us...

Re: Home Remedies During CPAP Downtime

That's a long time to be without a machine! Are you able to rent one while you wait? Even a brick would be fine for that time.
