Re: Moving SD card from Airsense 10 to an S9

And remember to get your S9 card into OSCAR frequently. The S9 saves only 5 nights of detailed data on the card, the rewrites them. If don't read the data within that time period, the details are lost.

The machines used different algorithms. That is, they have different instructions for identifying and responding to you breathing events.
Once you get an SD card you will be able to see what makes the ResMed machine shoot to higher pressures than the Respironics.

Re: A question to those who have successfully mouthtaped

I always use chapstick.
That didn't keep CRT from removing a layer of skin from around my lips.
My best solution now is the silicone backed tapes, Medvance or 3M. More expensive, but worth the comfort.

Back when I was using 3M Micropore Paper tape, I would need baby oil - and patience - to remove it.

The cover roll tape works for me but takes a layer off my skin when removing in the morning. Does anyone have suggestions for making removal less painful? Thanks to all.
Wet it with warm water.

Re: Misleading thread header

That's right. "Dreamwear not [recommended] for dry-eyes patients. Solutions?" Anyhow, tomorrow I expect to get the goggles I ordered to remedy the condition and will report on my experiences Monday morning if the goggles arrive on time. "Corrective lenses?" :-) Instead of replyingy you can simply e...

Re: Dreamwear for dry-eyes patients

As a person with dry eyes, I find the subject of the thread misleading.
Made me think this was a mask for dry eyes, while you mean to say it's not.
How about:

PS stands for Pressure Support.
Her Exhale Positive Air Pressure is 8. Her PS, the additional pressure she needs to make sure she inhales properly is 10. EPAP + PS is IPAP.

Re: Help for the clueless

There are indications of obstructions in your present chart: definitely the snoring -- Edit: rest of the sentence deleted after I read Respirator 99's post. A question you didn't answer: who suggested and ASV an who set it up? What you tell us about you data from 2011-12 does not in any way scream o...

Re: Help for the clueless

So it sounds like hypopneas when your breathing is reduced and you're not taking in enough oxygen and these events are called obstructive apneas if your breathing completely stops. Not so. Your breathing can stop completely because your airway is obstructed, and you're struggling to breathe, and yo...

Re: High respiration rate?

1. You can't assume that everyone else will have the same experience that you had, especially since (some/many/most) don't; In my case, as my ENT explained to me, my long palate means a very soft and sensitive area where the device, once deployed into its cylindrical mesh, causes quite severe disco...

You could have ingested the data into OSCAR.

Some doctors refuse to trust OSCAR, an open source program created by volunteers.
Professionals have the software supplied by the machine making companies, and need to read from the card.

Re: Can a CPAP machine truly revolutionize life?

I believe the most important thing is to obtain and wear a recording O2 monitor... I use the O2Ring. If your oxygen levels are good all night CPAP is not going to help you... if you are indeed having O2 desaturations then CPAP has a chance. The O2Ring costs about 160USD right now I believe... lasts...
