I went from Tums to Tagamet to Prilosec over the last couple years, and had some scary moments waking up unable to breathe from stomach content in airway. Since I got my CPAP I have not used anything but the occasional papaya enzyme tablet. A mazing. I go with Goofyut's explanation. Stopped my GERD ...

I wear a small 431 FF and I bought the Small 432 because I really like the 431 except that it tends to leak around my eyes. Guess what. The 432 leaks around my eyes. And I found on first trial that where the 431 was on the loose end of fitting the 432 was probably too small. (I'm experimenting with ...

Our power went out Thursday evening and came back on Friday morning, but I can still hear our next door neighbor's generator tonight (Monday) so their power must still be down, and the water system's power came on last night so about a quarter of the system was without water Thurs to Sun. The folks ...

Thanks gang, I know a lot more now. However, I have an M series RemStar CPAP and I am wondering if I just plug its AC power cord into the inverter, or if that hunky power pack that connects it to the machine on one end and the wall on the other is already the inverter and only needs a way to connect...

Night without power

The storm that's been howling through the Pacific NW whacked us with torrential rain and winds with gusts up to 65mph and not surprisingly, our power went out last night. Off around 7 p.m., and back on 12 hours later, which is when I finally got to sleep. I'm three months into using a CPAP, and what ...

Make your own CPAP pillow

The only trick to this is that not everyone knows that the best way to cut foam and memory foam is with an electric carving knife. Use the knife for the big cut, and if you want the edges beveled ( I didn't) use a pair of scissors. I bought a pair of memory foam neck support pillows on sale at Joann...

I was warned by the sleep lab people and others here that with a higher pressure, the nasal pillows and inserts were not a good choice. "You'll think your head is exploding" is what the RT told me. My pressure is 15cm and I'm saving for an auto.

I get inflated cheeks sometimes even with the full face mask. But it's under my (your) control. The difference is a slight amount of mouth suction -- what I use to keep my mouth shut and my teeth together. Experiment without the mask -- close your mouth, notice what keeps your jaw up and your cheeks...

I had O2 prescribed from before my sleep study. The pulse oximetry test they ran on me showed I was getting down to 43% saturated O2 while attempting REM sleep, so while I was waiting to be processed, I was on 2 cm of O2. It helped, but not as much as the CPAP. Then I was on both until the different...

Look how far I can shoot a marble thru this plastic thingie and hose! How'd I get marbles in my humidifier? Suzie, do you know where my mask and hose ar...

Humor: Honey, have you seen my CPAP? or mask?

Honey, have you seen my CPAP? Just a minute, I'm almost finished blowing out the radiator. Timmy, have you seen my mask? Wow, Mom, wait till you see the cool trick I figured out to keep the dog from chewing on his butt. Hey! Where's my hose? Hey Mom, come look at how you can fill the bathtub from th...

The M series has a dial that allows you to pick the level of humidification. If I turn the unit off, and then back on, it comes on at the same level automatically. If it runs out of water, it blinks. That's the good news. The bad news is that I still can't fill the silly humidifier without pouring a...

Yep, tights come in knee highs, and over the knees, too. If you REALLY want power, you can get support hose in those lengths, too. Not sure what strength stretch and rebound you're looking for.
But it's there.

Y'know, everybody around here talks about the pantyhose solution -- cut a leg off a pair of pantyhose -- and if you already wear panty hose and have used ones around, then it makes sense. But if you don't, it's cheaper to buy a pair of knee high pantyhose and use those, plus they don't get runs from...

She probably learned from the same place as the RT I went to who gave me the UMFF mask without the cushion clip because I didn't need it. She couldn't find it or didn't bother to look for it.
Caveat emptor indeed.
