Re: Sinugator?

Purchase a Grossan Hydro Pulse system from Amazon. Following is a link to that product. http://www.amazon.com/Grossan-Hydro-Irrigation-System-Original/dp/B000H84D2G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388112704&sr=8-1&keywords=grossan I am very pleased with mine and have used it for a couple of years or so. Re: Heart racing, early morning wake ups

How about the possibility of sinus drainage that blocks your airway with a blob of "junk"? You might try using a Grossan power irrigator. You can buy it at Amazon....and it's a great tool. Use 3-tablespoons of kosher salt along with 3-teaspoons of baking soda in one gallon of distilled water. Warm a...

Re: Taping mouth

Archangel...... I agree with everything in your post except the last four words. Each instance of taping is separate from all other instances. Therefore, the risks do not add up. I have considered all the dangers you have written about.......and I believe the risks to be so negligible that they aren...

Re: Taping mouth

Bob............ I've been taping for many years....every night. I consider it very safe....and it's so comfortable that I wouldn't consider a FFM. The power has failed a half dozen times in the last five years or so......and in every case, it was a "non-event". I simply woke up....very gently.....an...

Re: Tape AND/OR STRAP

Darryl......

I forgot to mention "tongue position"...

When taping, you need to (over time) teach your tongue to park its tip just behind (and up against) your upper front teeth. This'll keep most of your tongue positioned against the roof of your mouth and help stop leaks.

Re: Sinus burning and possible infection??? Ideas?

Teacherman, here's a possible way out of trouble. Go to Amazon.com and purchase a Grossan power sinus irrigation machine. It works REALLY FINE.....you'll love it. Make your own sinus wash solution with the following formula: 1-gallon distilled water, 3-Tablespoons of Kosher Salt, and 3-Teaspoons of ...

Re: Tape AND/OR STRAP

I've been using 2" 3M Blue #2080 Painter's Tape for about the last 5-years. I have used it every night with great results. Recently, 3M has changed their adhesive formula....and I suspect their paper composition. The tape is now better than ever for our purposes. You can tell if you have the latest ...

Sorry.....no mustache. I can't see how tape would comfortably work with one.

Re: Shallow Breather...what is the best mask type?

I learned about the Aura Headrest by Aeiomed....from Rested Gal (I consider her the "Mother Superior" of this forum).

I will not use anything else.

In addition, I tape using 3M Blue 2" #2080EL from Lowe's paint dept....and my AHI stays at about 1.1.

I'm a shallow breather.

Re: Preventing rainout in nasal pillows

Locust..... Your article is a good one. It does a good job of explaining "hose rainout". It's helpful if one understands that there are two kinds of rainout. The most difficult to combat is the "hose rainout" described in the article you presented. The second type of rainout is "exhaled breath conde...

Re: Preventing rainout in nasal pillows

Kevin..... For years, I've prevented condensation annoyance in my nasal pillows by inserting a piece of cotton string that acts as a wick. I'm not sure how your mask is actually built....so, I can't tell you how to place the string. The wick I use is simply cotton string...of the type and thickness ...

Re: Gentle ways to tape?

I've been taping for years....with excellent results. I use 3M Blue #2080EL 2" wide Painter's Tape. Every night. Buy it at Lowe's in the "Paint Department". Tear off a strip about 9" long and fold each end down about 1/4" for "removal handles". Tape horizontally across your lips and just under your ...

Dementia / Alzheimers caused by sleep apnea?

Those of us with sleep apnea are at high risk of developing Dementia and/or Alzheimer's because of the high levels of Cortisol we produce during the night (if we don't successfully treat our condition with CPAP therapy). Check out the following article: http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/328927/Dem...

Re: tap water in humidifier

If it's good enough to drink, it's good enough for your humidifier. Pugsy is correct.....swish, dump, and rinse each time you refill the reservoir....and you'll have no problems.
