selling off equipment not that I'm cpap free
ALL SOLD. Be well. ******************************************************* Hey folks, It's been a while. I hope everyone's making good progress with their gear. I was here last year struggling with a Resmed AutoSet Spirit which I eventually sold along with a bunch of other add-ons. And now I'm selli...

Selling top-of-the-line Resmed gear, incl. pulse/oxy unit
Hey folks, Long time no post. I've decided to give up my aPAP treatment. The quality of rest I was getting wasn't any better than without, often times worse. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and have gone through the xPAP rigamarole for a while. I am now content to get the sleep that I do, with...

Thanks for posting all this info about the conference you attended, Mike. Do you have access to or know where one can download the transcription? Regarding the above guest's post, it's difficult to discern the tone of the question (as I find it is often with the written word), but I'm not sure it's ...

fascinating thread! I've been in the animation/film/video/online media industry for about 10 years, starting out as a coordinator for an art department and then working my way up to digital artist. The last year or so, I've been doing special effects for movies. I'm currently taking a break from the...

The video software I posted about yesterday can help you do that. It may be overkill but will tell you what you want to know. You need a mac and either video camera with a firewire port or a webcam.

rocknroll , the video was pretty freakin boring - 22 minutes of some tossing & turning and a lot of small movements. But ultimately it worked. It's pretty easy to see my chest expanding and contracting, hear little noises (I dangled a microphone right above my head). And because the resulting file ...

I agree with trading in the Pro for an auto. Might as well give yourself the best shot possible. And though you've probably heard it a thousand times, give up the cigs. Exercising will help too. But enough of the unsolicited advice As to the mask, my inexperienced opinion would be to try a nasal pil...

video taping yourself
I thought this may be of interest to some people either for themselves, or those they know who suspect they have apnea but don't currently have someone to tape them at night. I wanted to see myself when my apap reported me having an "event" so I decided to look for some video software that would con...

christine , thanks for the link. That was helpful. Makes me curious what the average "normal" person's PSG would/should look like. Janelle , doing a test at a constant pressure of 4 is an interesting idea. I may do that. One warning though, according to the Auto Spirit manual, "At low pressures, th...

re: software
I agree about the software. The interface looks like it was designed in the 80's. It's a little clumsy to navigate and a touch buggy. I'll hopefully be doing a review of the Autospirit, Reslink & Autoscan software once I have a little more experience with them.

I suspected
resmed 's website is down. Perhaps their putting on the window dressings for the S8 release. My questions are: - Will it still need a Reslink module to collect pulse-oximetry data? If so, will it work with the current Reslink module? - Will it have a USB port? If not, why not? - Is the algorithm th...

ozij , Kaiser Permanente is a Health Maintenence Organization in the United States. In addition to providing insurance coverage, they also operate their own facilities. ozij , please keep me posted (either post or PM me). I'd be very curious to hear how the meeting with the tech goes. When you say you "know you wake up snoring and choking," are you referring to the titration study or your sleep in general? I'm also curious if your sleep test results show a timelin...
